About Us
We are approved by the NSW Office of Fair Trading as providers of the course that owner-builders in New South Wales are required to complete in order to obtain their owner-builder permit.

There are three mandatory steps in the owner-builder process if the proposed work is valued at more than $12,000*.
- Complete an approved owner-builder information course
- Obtain owner-builder permit (from the Office of Fair Trading)
- Obtain construction permit (from your local Council or Licensed Inspector)
* The $12,000 cut-off figure. You must factor in your own labour at licensed tradesman’s rates when working out the final cost of your project - it is the increased value of the real estate at the end of the project that determines the cost. If that calculated value is greater than $12,000 then you need to complete a course.
Our course is offered for completion by correspondence. You may choose to receive the printed version by mail, Word documents via e-mail or PDF documents via web (secure download).
